Through our Medicare-certified hospice agency, we care for our patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end stage of life. Our goal in hospice care is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own place of residence.
We are currently in need of certified Reiki Master-level practitioners to provide loving care to certain hospice patients, who reside in private homes and assisted living facilities on the Westside. Do you have two or more hours per week to help support our patients in need? If so, please respond to this post, and our volunteer coordinator will send you more information and an application. Caring Like Family Hospice is searching for compassionate volunteers who have giving hearts and a willingness to offer their time and energy to patients and families dealing with end of life issues.
Description
Caring Like Family Hospice offers administrative and in-home volunteer opportunities. In-home support consists of providing companionship, relief care, running errands, and engaging in life review as well as assisting with light household chores, walking dogs, and/or interacting with family and caregivers. Administrative volunteer duties consists of answering telephones, filing, and assisting with special projects.
At Caring Like Family, we care for our patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end stage of life. Our hospice philosophy focuses on comfort care not curative care. Our goal in hospice care is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one. Hospice care can also be provided in a long-term care facility or an assisted living facility.
