This includes various cleaning duties around the shelter that help the overall appearance and functions of the building and activities within. Some examples of these duties include:
- Unfold and put away newspapers
- Laundry
- Sweep or mop visitation rooms
- Various cleaning to ensure tidiness throughout (bathrooms, lobby, etc.)
- Pick up trash that may be outside our building and property/parking lot
- Organizing areas that need tidying up
- Wash toys, dishes, or grooming supplies

Description
The purpose of the Humane Society is to provide humane care for all lost, abandoned, abused, neglected and unwanted companion animals in Scott County and to adopt these animals into caring, responsible homes. In Scott County alone, we provide shelter and care to over 3000 lost, abandoned and unwanted animals each year.

- A minimum of 10 hours or 3 visits within 3 months is required to complete the training program. Our great mentors will train you in all procedures and make you feel comfortable so that your volunteer time with us is a success!
