As a cat companion, you will socialize with our adoptable cats to increase their adoptability and quality of life while in the shelter. Some examples of a cat companion’s duties include:

  • Pet and brush cats and kittens
  • Ensure water is full and clean
  • Scoop litter if needed
  • Ensure blankets are clean
  • For young volunteers, reading to cats in a quiet and comfortable place
  • Provide bios to our Volunteer Coordinator for use on social media and websites

Description

The purpose of the Humane Society is to provide humane care for all lost, abandoned, abused, neglected and unwanted companion animals in Scott County and to adopt these animals into caring, responsible homes. In Scott County alone, we provide shelter and care to over 3000 lost, abandoned and unwanted animals each year.
