We are always looking for new volunteer tutors to help our students in various capacities. Our tutorial program works with students in both Adult Basic Education and ESL. Most of our Adult Education students need help with mostly math, but also writing and reading. They are either trying to get their high school equivalency or building up their skills so they can go to college. The adult ESL students range from just beginning to speak/understand English up to almost fluent. The ESL students generally want to work to improve their pronunciation, general conversation skills, ability to write correctly in English and someone to answer cultural questions. They need a "safe" person to practice their English with so that they are more confident as they navigate their daily lives. We generally ask our tutors to meet with a student for around 90 minutes a week. You decide on the days and times that are convenient for you.
