We are always looking for foster home trainers. You receive a puppy from us when it is 8 weeks old. You attend weekly training classes at our training center. You practice daily at home. You continue the training until the dog is around 2-3 years old. It is then "matched" with a person with disabilities or a veteran or first responder with PTSD. We find vacation homes for your dog in training when you are going to be gone. We are training you on how to train the dog. Other pets in household is fine. No experience necessary.

Mission Statement
Helping Paws is a volunteer based nonprofit organization whose mission is to further people's independence and quality of life through the use of Assistance Dogs. Serving people with physical disabilities, veterans and first responders with PTSD, and facility dogs in mental health and courthouse settings.
Description
Helping Paws began 1n 1988 and has placed over 231 service dogs to people in need. We train golden retrievers and labrador retrievers for two years and then place them with an individual with a physical disability or a veteran affected by PTSD. Service dogs can be trained to open and close doors, pick up dropped items, pull wheelchairs, and so much more! These dogs are also wonderful friends who offer their owners unconditional love.
