Volunteers are needed to help remove native prairie plants from a lot that is under development.
The prairie is located at Republic/Columbia parkway and contains plants that have existed there for decades or longer. Plants may be removed or moved to adjoining property.
Volunteers should wear long pants, long shirt, gloves, bring a narrow shovel that digs deep, a bucket, and a jug of water (for their consumption and to soften the ground), if possible. Hats are optional.

Volunteers can enhance and augment the City's ability to provide quality services to the community by participating in a variety of City programs and activities. In return, volunteers receive an opportunity to increase their skills and knowledge, while becoming better prepared to participate in government and to influence decisions affecting their community.
