At Restore Education, our mission is to transform at-risk youth into successful college and career-ready students, so that they can achieve the future they deserve as self-supporting adults, role models as parents, and contributing members of the community. We have partnered with NXT Level Youth Opportunity Center to provide additional services to our young adults 16-24 years old through individualized goal planning, one on one coaching, and connection to resources.

Together, we are looking for volunteer tutors who are excited about working with young adults to reach their goal of obtaining their GED. The ideal tutor for this group would be someone who is passionate about education, interested in building relationships with our young adults, and able to make learning a fun and creative experience.

Volunteer tutors will work with Restore Education and NXT Level staff during these study groups to provide additional support for our younger students who need more individualized or small group support. Volunteer tutors will engage young adults in study for the high school equivalency certification in a supportive environment.

The study group meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 PM- 4 PM. Volunteers must commit to a regular two hour weekly time slot, but are welcome to participate for the full four hour session.

More about NXT Level:

The NXT LEVEL Youth Opportunity Center is a safe space for 16-24 year olds to pursue personal, educational, and career goals. Coaches support participants by developing a personalized plan and providing 1-on-1 coaching to achieve those goals. Coaches can help participants re-enroll in school, pursue career training, or find a job, as well as address transportation challenges, find a safe place to sleep, connect to services in the community, and be someone to talk to during challenging times.
