The Downtown Berkeley YMCA is looking for volunteer coaches and referees for our Fall Youth Basketball League!
Our league focuses on teaching children (ages 7-10) the fundamentals of basketball in a safe, fun, beginner friendly environment. In this 8-week league teams practice once per week and play one game per weekend on Saturdays. We’re looking for people who are responsible, enthusiastic, and passionate about working with and empowering youth.
Coaches do not need prior basketball experience but it is encouraged, and you must be willing to commit 2-3 hours per week coaching a team.
Fall Basketball League is October 14th-December 7th; no games or practice Nov 25th-30th.
Practice days are between Monday-Thursday, and practice times range from 4:30-5:30PM, 5:30-6:30PM and 6:30-7:30PM.
Game days are on Saturday between 10:15am-4:00pm.
Are you ready to coach a basketball team?
If so, please contact volunteer specialist Donise Lewis at dlewis@ymcaeastbay.org!
