Job Description: Founded in 1953, Center for Arts-Inspired Learning (CAL) is NE Ohio’s leading arts education organization. With a budget of $1.9 million, CAL provides more than 6,500 programs to youth each year in schools, libraries, and other community centers. Working with artists in music, dance, theater, visual and digital arts, CAL delivers programs that teach arts disciplines and are integrated into the core curriculum.

CAL is seeking a dynamic and innovative intern to work with the Marketing department. This position will support marketing staff in promoting Center for Arts-Inspired Learning.

Length of Internship: 6-12 weeks, commitment of 10-20 hours per week (100 hours minimum), Spring 2020

Compensation : Unpaid internship; Free parking included.

Reports to: Marketing Communications Director

Duties:

  • Assist Marketing Communications Director in creation of print collateral
  • Support staff at community outreach and engagement events
  • Photograph and document programming
  • Interview venue representatives, artists, and students

Requirements:

  • Be currently enrolled in a college or university or a recent graduate
  • Major in marketing, gra phic design, communications, public relations, or a similar field
  • Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Must be motivated to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Junior standing or higher

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in non-profit marketing, social media campaigns, and/or videography.

In more than 60 years, the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning (formerly Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio) has served nearly 7 million students in 18 counties through arts education, and has reached even more through our advocacy efforts, professional development, and community programs.

We effectively create innovative learning experiences-closing learning gaps, teaching creative thinking and problem solving, and helping students succeed in school, in their first jobs, and beyond. We work with more than 100 professional teaching artists, experts in their fields, to tie to curricular connections and socio-emotional themes, helping children in Grades PreK-12 learn through and with the arts.
