Volunteer Engagement Team Member-Orientations and onboarding

  • Oversee the orientation and onboarding process of volunteers
  • Facilitate orientations for newly onboarded volunteers ( in person and virtually)
    • Does a monthly orientation at the Chapter and does one on one orientations for volunteers who are unable to attend the large orientations
  • Interview, screen and onboard volunteers within Volunteer Services-help them with their Volunteer Connection courses, get them acclimated to the Red Cross and learn how engagement works
  • Assist with volunteer follow up after orientation
  • Speaks to volunteers about the American Red Cross and the ways they can engage in volunteering
  • Follow up with volunteers who do not make it to orientation

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic about Red Cross mission and programs
    * Proven leadership in nonprofit or for-profit organizations
    * Cultural sensitivity to diverse audiences
    * Knowledge and understanding of Red Cross services and operations and opportunities for volunteer service
    * Work well both individually and with others
    * Relevant, complementary management and/or technical skills/operational experience

*Volunteer must be available at least 2 evenings per month after 4:30pm and weekends
