HELP FIGHT FOOD INSECURITY IN SF! Assembly volunteers needed to bag fresh and healthy food! MOWSF runs a Home Delivered Groceries program in partnership with the SF Food Bank. This is a 100% volunteer-run program, and it is a great way to connect and help serve our seniors and people with disabilities of every neighborhood in SF. We serve over 450 people every week, by providing fresh produce. Unlike our cooked meal service which services 5000 homebound clients daily, this program serves a separate group of seniors and people with disabilities who are able to cook for themselves but have some difficulty purchasing groceries weekly or getting to a local food pantry. We provide groceries to every neighborhood in the city and the need is increasing as the effects of COVID continue to be a burden on many to obtain food. The assembly shift starts at 7:30 am and ends at approximately 9:30 am.

About Meals On Wheels of San Francisco, Inc.
1375 Fairfax Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94124, US
Meals On Wheels of San Francisco and its volunteers provide seniors what they need to live independent and dignified lives -- nutritious meals, professional social work, and friendly human contact.
Meals on Wheels was started in 1970 by a group of volunteers who worked out of local kitchens to prepare and deliver meals to their frail, homebound neighbors. As the need for this service outstripped the volunteers' capacity to provide for it, professional drivers, social workers and administrative staff were hired, and meals were prepared by a hospital nutrition staff and later by a corporate caterer. Today we serve more than 3,000 seniors, making Meals on Wheels San Francisco's largest provider of home delivered meals to the elderly. Volunteers play a key role in our service, providing many seniors with personal assistance and emotional support.
