The Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (FVSRA) was formed in 1976 and is an extension of the Batavia, Fox Valley, Geneva, Oswegoland, St. Charles, Sugar Grove Park Districts, and South Elgin Parks and Recreation Department to provide a diverse range of year round recreational activities to enable residents with disabilities to experience active, healthy and playful lifestyles.

FVSRA is seeking part-time staff to assist individuals with special needs as they participate in local Park and Recreation programs for school aged children while practicing best hygiene practices, including keeping distance, washing hands and wearing a mask. You may work at a one to one staff ratio up to a one staff to four participants. Staff also assists in program adaptations and behavior modifications while promoting a safe and enjoyable recreation experience. Knowledge in leisure and recreation or special needs is a plus, but not required.

Available shifts from 6 am - 6 pm in Aurora, Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles.

Your commitment can be minimal or considerable. Everyone, regardless of prior experience, is encouraged to apply.

Description

FVSRA provides year-round Therapeutic Recreation Services including General Programs, Special Olympics Sports, Leisure Education, Day Camp, Special Events, Travel Opportunities, Individualized Programming, and Social Programs. All participants receive a Therapeutic Recreation Assessment upon registering to assist with proper placement within FVSRA programs.
