AGE RESTRICTION OF 16+ ONLY. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Please contact our volunteer coordinator Matt Massey at plantingvolunteers@ourcityforest.org or (408) 998-7337 ext. 124 to register or if you have any questions. We do fill to capacity closer to the event, so please be sure to contact us ahead of the event date if you would like to attend. Sending a registration email does not guarantee you a spot until you hear back from the volunteer coordinator. While we discourage cancellations, if a cancellation is necessary, please provide us with at least 24 hours notice.

We will be planting 22 trees along a road backup on East San Antonio Street.

Meeting location to be determined. 1541 East San Antonio Street, San José, California, 95116 is not the exact location where we will be planting, but this is the closest address to where we will be planting (as we are planting trees on a road backup). An exact meeting location will be emailed the day prior to the community planting.

If you are volunteering for this event please arrive at the site by 8:45 A.M. to sign in. Planting begins at 9:00 A.M. Bring a reusable water bottle, snacks, and sun/rain protection! Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Closed toed shoes are required. This is a rain or shine event!

About Our City Forest

Location:

1195 Clark St, San Jose, CA 95125, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to cultivate a green and healthy Silicon Valley by engaging community members in the appreciation, protection, growth and maintenance of our urban ecosystem, especially our urban forest.

Description

The ultimate goal of the program is to facilitate the planting of one million trees in Silicon Valley, utilizing one million people. We have planted over 70,000 trees in San Jose, encouraging community members to join us in improving the environmental conditions of their communities. We focus on making a healthy urban forest accessible to all by offering services targeted towards disadvantaged communities because we believe a healthy environment should be available to all people, not just those who have the resources to access it.
