Kindred Hospice-Virginia Beach purpose is to provide comfort, compassion, dignity, and peace to terminally ill patients and their families through a holistic approach to physical, spiritual, and emotional care by professionally trained hospice teams and specialized community resources. Our volunteers are a part of that team. The volunteer’s role in hospice care includes patient/family and /or administrative support. Volunteers can provide direct support in the patient’s home or a nursing facility with the purpose of companionship and /or caregiver relief. Some volunteers help the family/patient celebrate special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. Administrative volunteers primarily work in our hospice office filing and /or assisting with mailings.

The hospice philosophy focuses on maintaining the quality of the patient’s life. With its dedicated team of interdisciplinary health care professionals and volunteers, Kindred Hospice provides caring support for the patient and their family.
Our Volunteer Program
Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice philosophy. Hospice volunteers are there to hold a hand and listen, read or write a letter, run errands or even help out in our office. Volunteers are there to step in when a family member needs a break, and are there for the family and friends after their loved one has passed away. No matter what your skills, talents or motivation, we have the opportunity for you to help.
