Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh sends library staff to visit elementary school classrooms all over Pittsburgh for the BLAST (Bringing Libraries and Schools Together) program. Volunteers are needed once-per-month to help prepare materials for these visits to 3 rd grade classrooms, including helping to review and comment on student journals.
Volunteers will read journal entries written by 3rd grade students about books they’ve read in class, and write response comments and leave stickers in the journals. We’ll provide basic training on how to do this.
Volunteer groups welcome.
