Santa Rosa, CA - Tree Planting Restoration Project - Fountaingrove II Open Space Maintenance Association (OSMA) is looking for volunteers to plant approximately 100 trees on Saturday, October 26, 2019. Holes will be already dug and trees placed in the holes, so that volunteers will add supplement tablets and dirt around the trees in the hole, stake the trees where needed and place deer-resistant cages. Tree planting tools and supplies will be provided.
Volunteers will meet at Rincon Ridge Park, the corner of Fountaingrove Expressway and Rincon Ridge Drive, at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019. Participants from the California Urban Forests Council, OSMA’s certified forester and others will speak with the volunteers before planting commences about California’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gases, the role trees have in sequestering carbon, and why the varieties they will be planting were chosen. Please join us for a fun community building event to bring a sense of renewal and regrowth for City of Santa Rosa residents and visitors.
Refreshments will be served at the end of the planting at the park.
