NALIP’s Diverse Women in Media Initiative (DWIMI) seeks to empower, inspire and advance women of diverse backgrounds to influential positions in media to improve diverse representation on and behind the camera.
The Diverse Women in Media Forum is an exclusive one day event that brings together diverse women to meet, inspire and empower each other. The purpose of the Forum is to help women advance to positions of influence and power within media. Attendees will learn from dynamic industry women leaders, hear thought-provoking sessions and workshops to come away with new tools, ideas and connections to influence the future of women in media.
By being a volunteer for NALIP, you will make connections to further develop your professional development skills. We believe that together we strengthen our organization and advance our goal of a more inclusive media industry.

We're looking for volunteers in the following departments:
- Digital Production - Assist our digital team in covering the event with still photography and video.
- Production & Logistics - Help with setup, maintenance, and teardown of fest events.
- Registration - Provide customer service and general program information including distributing fest credentials to all patrons.
- Transportation - Assist in with transferring guests and equipment between venues.
- Ushers & Stage Management - Volunteers to assist in preparing the auditoriums for sessions/showcases
- Communications - Help with press check-in, office duties, and communications on social media platforms.

Mission Statement
For over twenty years, The National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP), stands as the premier Latinx and diverse media organization, addressing the most underrepresented and largest ethnic minority in the country. NALIP’s mission is to discover, promote and inspire Latinx content creators and diverse voices across all media platforms. NALIP serves the needs of diverse content creators including, producers, performers, writers, directors, and industry professionals.
Description
NALIP activates its mission through its yearly events and programs. In the fall, we host our Latino Media Fest, the largest festival that focuses on U.S. based Latinx Creators. In December we have the Diverse Women in Media Forum which examines the state of the entertainment industry through the lens of Women from many diverse backgrounds. Lastly, we are anticipating our 20th Annual NALIP Media Summit in the summer of 2019 that is the largest culmination of Latinx creators to screen, discuss, and celebrate the last year in Latinx content. While these events are great and help push the careers of content creator, it is nor possible without the help of amazing volunteers that want to gain industry knowledge and be a part of the conversation surrounding Inclusion.
