The Danbury Westerners are a summer college baseball team. We will be playing our 26 th season in the New England Collegiate Baseball League in 2020. We are a 501(c)3 not for profit organization staffed entirely by volunteers.
College players from all over the United States spend June and July in Danbury playing a 44 game schedule against teams from all six New England states.
22 former Westerners have or are playing in the major leagues. 182 Westerners have been selected in the major league draft. Over 250 former Westerners have played professional baseball.
We have several volunteering opportunities. Among them are...
GAME DAY VOLUNTEERS - We have home games on 20 to 25 days per year from the first week of June to the first week of August. Game day volunteers do things like set up signs, tables and chairs, sell tickets, sell Westerner merchandise, work in the Snack Shack, work with sponsors and other volunteer organizations, then break it all down after the game. Game time is 6:30 PM. Some volunteers arrive as early as 4:30. Some leave as late as 10:30. If you are comfortable handling money and/or food - great! If not, that’s OK too.
We also have out of season events year round that you may want to be part of.

The Danbury Westerners are a 501(c)3 non-profit bringing summer college baseball to the Danbury Connecticut area for the entertainment of fans of all ages. We provide opportunities for both students and adults to volunteer with like minded people, make new friends and share their skills.

Founded in 1995.
Member of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
Over 280 former Westerners have played professional baseball.
29 former Westerners have played in the major leagues.
8 former Westerners played Major League Baseball in 2023.
We would love to speak with you about volunteering with us whether your interest is in working only on game nights or if you want to use your knowledge of fundraising, experience in hiring and managing people, experience successfully negotiating with business executives and politicians or those with experience organizing large events.
Our work is not limited to baseball season but is a 12 month a year effort.
