We are seeking committed volunteers to join our mentoring program at The Embracing Project. Volunteers can apply to either be an Angel Mentor or a Girls Circle Group Facilitator.

Angel Mentor

As an angel mentor, you work 1-1 with girls who have been identified as victims of sexual assault, sexual abuse, domestic violence, intimate partner violence and stalking. You will meet with your mentee individually according to each of your availabilities and work with them to address their developmental, social, and emotional needs through strengths-based programming and ultimately, help them foster an understanding of their inherent value and innate potential.

Time commitment - 15-25 hours a month, depending on your availability

Girls Circle Group Facilitator

As a facilitator of our group mentoring program, you will discuss topics such as self-esteem, body image, teen pregnancy and STD prevention, teen homelessness, bullying and more. Girls Circe meets every Saturday with sessions at 9:30 am-11:30 am and 12 pm-2 pm however, the hours are flexible and we do not require you to be in the office every Saturday for group. We do require that you arrive 30 minutes prior to group to prepare.

Time commitment - 10-20 hours a month, depending on your availability

Adequate training is provided for all volunteers.

The minimum commitment is 3 months. We place a great deal of emphasis on establishing consistency and stability for the youth we serve and this includes the volunteers they interact with.

If you are chosen to serve as a volunteer, you will be asked to undergo a background check, drug test and training.
