Help bring compassion and comfort to the community. Assisted Home Health & Hospice Foundation is seeking volunteers who have Certified Therapy Dogs to provide companionship visits for hospice patients. Pets can provide many physical and emotional benefits and as a volunteer you will have the opportunity to touch the lives of patients and their families during a difficult time.
Hospice patients are in their final stages of life and every visit makes a difference. As a volunteer you will receive hospice volunteer training at one of our orientation sessions to help prepare you for your visits. We work with your schedule and desired service area. Volunteers must already have a certified therapy dog and be able to provide proof of pet therapy certification, current vaccination records, and animal license.
To learn more about how you and your therapy dog can bring joy to hospice patients, please email Katie Lukehart at foundation@assisted1.com or call (805) 379-3656.
