The mission of STAR Academy is to educate, prepare, and redirect students targeted for re-entry into a traditional school setting through behavioral management, academic performance, and attendance.
Description
As demands and complexities of teaching children increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to collaborate to ensure that our children reach their potential. We believe that all of us - the school and the community - must work together as a team effort to ensure success for all our students served. Our main focus is student learning and behavior, affording them opportunities that will maximize their success. We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful and responsible.
In a forever changing world, it is imperative that we set the bar of expectations high for our students providing them with vigorous lessons to help them reach their full potential. - We will be happy to work with your schedule, we will take volunteers for anywhere from 2 hours to all day. As many or as few days a month as you'd like to volunteer.
- Star Academy is the alternative school in Harnett County. We are looking for volunteers who are able to be patient and stern at the same time.
