MAMAS on the Move transports dogs in from our shelter in South Carolina to the North East through volunteers. Each volunteer transports dogs in their own vehicles for roughly 1 hour up I-95 every other Saturday. The transport relay legs in NOVA are from Fredericksburg, VA to Alexandria, VA and from Alexandria, VA to Baltimore, MD.

At each stop, dogs are all given a walk and offered water before getting back on the road for the next leg.

In addition to transporting dogs through the NOVA area, MAMAS volunteers overnight and short-term foster dogs. Overnight foster volunteers pick up the dogs from our Alexandria location and drop them off at our Alexandria or Baltimore locations the following morning. At the end of a long day, the dogs really appreciate some play and snuggle time!

M.A.M.A.S. is also always looking for fundraising volunteers.

About MARY ANN MORRIS ANIMAL SOCIETY INC

Location:

PO BOX 1151, BAMBERG, SC 29003, US

Mission Statement

M.A.M.A.S. is dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of animals. We are a No-Kill facility that depends mostly on donations to care and find homes for those in our charge. Only one of the five towns within our county has an animal control officer and with our limited resources, we are unable to pick up animals so the ones we have are brought to us by people who find strays or owners who give them up.

Description

M.A.M.A.S. is a no-kill dog rescue in rural Bamberg County, South Carolina. We save close to 800 dogs a year, transporting most of them via our volunteer transport service up the East Coast, rehoming them to adopters or placing them with foster-based rescues.
