The Renton Library is creating a Meaningful Movies community club and we need your help!
"The Meaningful Movies Project is a non-profit organization that assists neighborhoods, groups and individuals organize, educate and advocate using the power of social justice documentary film and relevant conversation to build positive and meaningful community and a more just and peaceful world."
What we need from you!
The Teen Services Librarian is seeking youth ages 13-21 who are passionate about social justice and enjoy movies to help start and maintain Meaningful Movies Project at Renton Library.
Responsibilities include:
- Helping chose the movies for 2020
- Helping find speakers for each screening
- Helping spread the word about the movies by creating flyers, social media posts, and word of mouth
- Helping the day of the screening with setting up the room, setting up the A/V equipment, greeting guests and guest speakers and cleaning up
This internship offers you the opportunity to:
- Learn about project management
- Use your social media skills to promote the program
- Network with community members around social justice issues
- Help build a strong, informed and compassionate community
You will receive volunteer credit for this opportunity.
