Brighton Hospice is seeking compassionate pet therapy volunteers to make visits to our hospice patients. You and your pet can provide a healing presence to our end-of-life patients by reducing stress and anxiety and increasing feelings of joy, warmth, and connection. Our patients live in facilities and private homes throughout the Indianapolis Metro Area and beyond. Volunteer hours are flexible. A minimum of 2-3 hours per week is desired. Hospice training is provided.

*All pet companions must be pet therapy certified and have up-to-date immunizations and health records.

Description

Brighton Hospice originated in 2012 in Utah and has spread to several other states including Minnesota, Oregon, Nevada and as of 2019 has come to Wisconsin and Indiana. Brighton Hospice is designed to provide comfort and support to patients, so they may live out the last phase of their lives with dignity in a familiar setting. The goal of hospice care is to improve the quality of a patient’s last months by offering comfort, dignity and care in a familiar setting, whether that be in the patient’s own home, Assisted Living, or Skilled Nursing Facility. Brighton Hospice recognizes that the dying process is a part of the normal process of living and focuses on enhancing the quality of remaining life. Our team is made up of our Administrator, Director of Clinical Services, Medical Director, Nurse Case Managers, Hospice Aides, Social Worker, Chaplain and an excellent support team. Brighton Hospice will provide you and your family with the quality care you deserve.
