Position Overview: The Franciscan Center is looking for a volunteer to help the Director of Finance with constructing our 3 rd floor kitchen! A water leak damaged an area in our office and our Director of Finance has been volunteering his time to put it back together! Construction experience is not necessary but ability to take directions and work on your feet for several hours is a must. Work involves use of hand tools, painting, repairing, moving furnishings and cleaning. Labor intensive!
Qualifications: Sense of humor; we like to laugh in the office. Ability to work on your feet for several hours. Don’t mind getting dirty.
Supervision: Will work directly under the Director of Finance for tasks and Volunteer Coordinator for any volunteer related issues.
Time Commitment/ Availability: Fridays but we can work around your schedule. Must be available for 4 hours at a time. Once a week.

Description
We serve people in need regardless of age, race, creed or national origin. Some are unable to work due to chronic illness. Some are homeless. Some earn wages below the poverty guideline. Some are members of families who have lost their means of support. Some suffer from mental illness. Some have HIV/AIDS.
Our goal is to give immediate response and relief to our clients' emergency needs and help them resolve the conditions that place them at risk, and grow sustainable lives.
