We are a community cafe that provides meals for anyone on a pay what you can basis. We serve every Tuesday and Thursday each week. We prep during the day, from around noon until 4 pm. We are in need of some cooks who can cook in large amounts and who hold a food manager's license. If you don't hold a food manager's license but are willing to work with us for a bit, we have a program to send you for a license.
We value our guests and our food for our guests. We provide them with homemade, quality food prepared with love. We treat everyone with integrity and hope that we encourage a relationship between diner and their meal.
If you are interested in helping, it would be best to spend some time with us to see if it will work for you. Please keep in mind that we make our food. We do not purchase frozen food and heat it up to serve. And we normally prepare for around 100 meals each night. If you have questions, please email Carolyn at kitchentablerochelle@gmail.com

Description
The Kitchen Table Inc opened on June 30, 2016. We prepare a family style dinner every Tuesday and Thursday. Anyone is welcome to come dine with us. We treat everyone the same, with respect and dignity. We allow people to choose how much they pay. This concept ensure that all get to get to eat regardless of their means. Our community cafe is operated on volunteer hours. We do not have an payroll. We have been recognized by the Chicago Tribune in the Thanksgiving edition of 2017. And then in March 2019, we had a surprise visit from Mike Rowe and his show 'Returning the Favor.’
