Volunteers painted for GPC

This Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 10 am-2 pm Riverwood Social Innovators program is hosting a paint drive to benefit Global Paint For Charity. Global Paint for Charity, Inc. (GPC), has embraced the importance of protecting the environment as it enriches the lives of the underserved population around the world. What better way to properly dispose of unused paint that is sitting in your basements, garages, and business inventories than to recycle it to help families in need while receiving a tax deduction for the value of your paint? That’s what GPC has done for the past 9 years.

Global Paint for Charity takes the paint and uses it as a resource to paint underserved communities in third world countries and targeted cities in the U.S.A. For $1 per CAN and $5 per BUCKET, we can safely process and recycle your paint. Stop by any time from 10 am-2 pm to drop off your paint. You don't even have to leave your vehicle. Paint Collection (limit 20 one-gallon cans and 5 one-bucket containers per donor). People of the Community will get an outlet to donate paint that is harmful and illegal to just throw away, while also helping a good cause.

Address: Riverwood International Charter School, 5900 Raider Drive, Sandy Springs, GA, 30328
WE TAKE:
LATEX PAINT
Interior and exterior latex paint
Water-based paint

NOTE: We are asking everyone to consider donating a small financial donation to help us cover expenses such as collection, processing, and shipping the paint to those in need. We will issue tax deduction receipts right away. The donation is a lot much less than what your local waste management would charge for collecting your unwanted paint, and who knows where your paint will end up after, you do the calculation! They are in it to make a profit whereas Global Paint commits to transforming poor communities into friendlier places here in the U.S and abroad. Currently, we ship across the world to 34 countries. So it is a win-win to everyone.

Don't forget to bring cash or a personal check.

Background of Global Paint for Charity
At Global Paint for Charity, we believe a coating of paint on the walls can change and impact people's lives for years to come. We know that many people cannot afford to paint their houses due to poverty or constant natural disasters every year. According to the World Health Organization, 1.5 billion families and seniors are living in destitute homes with bad germs and deadly bacteria on the interior and exterior surfaces, and more than 170 million children have never had access to a painted classroom. Nearly 80 % of the world's primary and high schools face a dreary reality or unpainted walls due to lack of resources such as paint. Whereas in the U.S., home is also where the multitudinous waste starts. Over 150 million gallons of paints end up as waste every year. According to the paint industry sources, each resident in the United States has over 10 gallons of unwanted paint in their basements and garages. That's enough paint to stretch up to reach the International Space Station and return to earth ten times per day for 10 million years. Or if the paint doesn’t get disposed of in the right way it can lead to serious environmental problems.

Global Paint for Charity provides a streamlined service that solves both of these issues. We, not only work together with businesses, corporations, households, and paint manufacturers in a collective effort to recycle post-consumer paint, but our technology also provides other organizations, and individuals access to some top paint brands include Benjamin Moore, PPG, Valspar, Sherwin Williams, Glidden, Rodda, Miller, Behr, ACE Hardware, etc. to assist their housing rehabilitation projects in poor communities in Central America, Africa, and the Caribbean. Through our outstanding and visionary leadership, as many as 5000 to 6000 gallons of paint have been shipped at a time to 34 countries in West Africa, Central America, the Caribbean, and war-torn areas of the Middle East and beyond. We have redistributed more than 280,000 gallons of paint to help with renovations and rejuvenation of family homes, homeless shelters, basic schools, churches, orphanages, hospitals and women clinics in targeted communities around the world and many major local cities right here in the U.S. and the fair market value of such donation is 7.6 million U.S. dollars. We could not have done it without your support!

We’ve made it our mission to hire and retrain individuals and volunteers with barriers to employment; collect discarded paint that would otherwise go to waste and overflow our landfills, and use it to beautify underserved communities, support local street artists, muralists, and families around the world. Please get engaged! We are changing lives and saving the world one gallon of paint at a time.

Global Paint for Charity is a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization, your monetary contributions, and donations are tax-deductible. Everybody wins!!
