Volunteer at McAuliffe Park Nursery

Join your neighbors and fellow park lovers in removing invasive plants and caring for native trees and shrubs at Juanita Open Space 4. This small natural area is a hidden gem with mature conifers. Enjoy the cool shade and rain stopping canopy while helping to restore the next generation of forest.

No experience is necessary and we encourage volunteers of all ages to join us!

What to Bring:

* Closed Toed Shoes Required (ex: tennis shoes, sneakers or boots but no sandals)
* Clothes that can get dirty
* Spring, Fall, Winter: Rain gear & Warm Layers, Summer: Sunscreen/Hat
* Long Pants/Long Sleeves
* Full water bottle & Snacks
* Tools, training and gloves are provided
* No bathroom or running water onsite (10 minute walk/drive)

Where to Park & Meet:
This park is nestled in a neighborhood at the curve of NE 144th St & 107th Ave NE and can be hard to find.

The nearest address is: 14401 107th Ave NE Kirkland, Washington

Look for the Green Kirkland Partnership signs at the bend in the road and volunteers will meet there. Street parking is available near the park.

Our Mission is to restore and maintain healthy forested and natural parklands by building a supportive community that works together to protect Kirkland’s valuable natural resources for current and future generations. Achieving this involves training and supporting volunteers in restoration activities.

Description

The Green Kirkland Partnership is an alliance between the City of Kirkland, nonprofit partners, businesses and the community to restore almost 500 acres of natural parkland in the City. The majority of the restoration efforts are accomplished by our dedicated volunteers. These volunteers may join us just one time or volunteer again and again. It takes everyone to restore our natural areas!
