As a non profit community theater, we are always looking for new ideas on how to promote our shows and gain new sponsors. Being a small board we are seeking to create an addition committee to focus on marketing.

Mission Statement

Our mission statement was first adopted in 1994 and is as follows The mission of the High Springs Playhouse is to serve our diverse community with quality theater, a strong education program, and provocative, socially significant classic and contemporary productions, as well as to cultivate artists and audiences alike, encouraging the participation of all interested individuals. Our vision is further explained through our vision statement;


The vision of the High Springs Playhouse is one of growth: to enhance the creativity and quality of our performances, to expand our audience, to increase volunteerism, and to meet the needs of our audiences by staying in touch with the community’s desires. HSP will pursue a program that ignites excitement, enhances our image, and promotes participation by the community.

Our productions are mostly family friendly however not all of our productions are appropriate for children. We produce a total of 6 plans a season including a youth production in the summer that is completely produced by our local youth ages 8-18 years. (of course, our young directors always have all the support they need from our board through their liaison)

As a theater we are very supportive of local talent and has chosen to have some new play writes produce their plays on our stage for the first time.

  • The time commitment can very depending on the time of the year. To goal would be to meet once a month in a brief meeting and the rest of the time to communicate via email, phone, text.
