Ambassadors for the Ambulatory Surgical Unit assist the many patients coming to the hospital on the day of their surgery; some patients are coming for a scheduled C-section and most have close family or friends with them who will be staying through their procedure and available for updates. The ambassadors greet patients and their support people then connect them with the the clinical staff.

The Ambulatory Surgical Unit is on a floor with other critical services. The Ambassadors there also help direct people going to the secured Labor, Delivery and Recovery Unit.

Overall, they lessen anxiety that comes from uncertainty. Ambassadors support a compassionate environment for patients and guests to the area.
