As One We Can Foundation dba The Black Ecosystem is looking for effective grant writers to help us obtain grants to support our mission; to enhance our community, to be the connector of resources to help create a better life through hands on entrepreneur training, e-commerce, self-improvement programs and internships that provide the gateway to sustainability. This unique opportunity will give a committed volunteer time to give back to their Chicago community through grant writing and research.

Grant Writer will work have access to our strong network of professionals across a variety of fields and have access to events that have been attended by multiple influencers and celebrities from across the nation.



Responsibilities include:
  • Prepare, submit & manage grant proposals
  • Perform prospect research on foundations & corporations to evaluate prospective grants
  • Comply with all grants as required by corporate/foundation donors
  • Secure grants for staffing and operation needs
  • Establish & maintain good rapport with current donors
  • Maintain accurate records in database of all grants & donations
  • Track statistics relevant to the development & reporting of metrics & data to donors as needed

The Black EcoSystem is a non profit organization in Chicago that focuses on revitalizing struggling communities, and empowering families and individuals directly affected by the struggle. The Founder Candice Cunningham grew up in West Englewood, Chicago, one of the most violent neighborhoods on the southside. After realizing that African-American communities are in a crisis, she decided to pull together resources to help solve the following problems: - Poverty - Gun Violence - No Jobs or Opportunities - Police Violence - Flawed Educational System - Family Issues - Mental Health Issues This led to the creation of the BLACK ECOSYSTEM, which focuses on collaboration. "We must all come together and contribute what we can. Then we must direct resources where they are most needed because all these issues have to be handled concurrently."
