We are looking for volunteer Mentors for our November 16th workshop in Boulder! We welcome anyone of any age (student or non-student), the only requirement is that you know how to use simple functions on a phone or laptop.

As a volunteer, you will be paired one-on-one with an older adult who you will mentor for 2 hours on whatever tech questions they have. Examples of common things people look for help with: "iPhone, selfies, texting", "Facebook - doing videos -maybe Snapchat" & "I can't email my documents".

In exchange for answering tech questions, you will gain from the wisdom and knowledge of your Mentee. It is a super easy, fun, and rewarding experience - so many new friendships are formed at each workshop. We also provide you with breakfast and coffee! The workshop runs from 9:45am-12:30pm. We start at 9:45am with breakfast burritos, a quick prep, and choosing who you'd like to Mentor.

Sign up for the November 16th workshop at generationexchange.org/signup. To learn more about what it's like to volunteer at Generation Exchange, check out photos and videos are on our Instagram at @generation_exchange.

About Generation Exchange

Location:

Mission Statement

Generation Exchange believes technology should be empowering for everyone.

Description

Free technology help for adults, who sign up as Mentees. Each Mentee is paired with a volunteer Mentor who volunteers to help with issues related to smartphone, tablet, and computer use. Guided by the questions and devices that Mentees bring to the workshop, the pair works together to learn new ways their technology can become exciting and fun. Or at least less frustrating.

After tech help, the roles switch. Mentors now ask their Mentee about anything they need help with e.g. business connections, life advice, restaurant recommendations.

The result is a mutually beneficial experience that leaves you feeling more connected to yourself, your community, and the world.

Generation Exchange has chapters in Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins. Since 2018 we have helped over 1000 people in Colorado and around the USA via Zoom.
