San Leandro Community Food Pantry
San Leandro Community Food Pantry needs volunteers to work "behind the scenes" in support of our food distribution pantry. We provide food distribution on Thursday evenings but have lots of work to do to prepare. We need volunteers to work from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday through Friday of each week. Single 2 hour day shifts or those of multiple days, but less than a full week are easily arranged. Heaviest work days will be Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Tasks include but are not limited to working with Food Recovery volunteers to weigh, sort, inventory and store food donated by participating grocery stores, checking and sorting existing dry and canned food, clearing and defrosting freezers and refrigerators, general housekeeping duties (sweeping/mopping floors, wiping counters and tables, emptying trash, straightening food on shelves). Training provided, four month commitment required. Please indicate which day(s) you are interested in working.
