Want to make Louisville a better place? Interested in engaging youth in critical thinking about their communities? Serve as a volunteer Facilitator for the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association's Metro Youth Advocates Program!

The goal of Metro Youth Advocates (MYA) is to create an annual cohort of young people inspired, informed, and engaged to effectively advocate for change at the community level. This program serves as an instrument for elevating the youth voice across the city and engaging young people more substantively in the issues that impact them, both with policymakers, community leaders, and among one another.

Volunteers are key members of our MYA team; they serve as Facilitators that guide our students through the program and work closely with small groups of students to help them develop advocacy plans related to issues of the students' choosing. Facilitators should be passionate about youth development and community advocacy but do not need to be experts in a specific field!

To apply to serve as a facilitator, complete the application at the following link by December 2, 2019: https://ymcayag.tfaforms.net/113

Please reach out if you have any questions or want more information! You can email elizabeth@kyymca.org or reach out through VolunteerMatch.
