Partners in English Language Learning

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Chair grant writing activities for small local nonprofit.

This is an all-volunteer nonprofit that trains volunteers to tutor local adults from other countries in English.

Most of these grants are to a large degree "boiler-plate" in that grant requests from previous years can be used as a template. Current data will be provided by the organization upon request, and verbage should be modified and updated to insure it is somewhat different from the previous request(s). There are usually 1 or 2 additional grant writers available to help with the actual writing.

This is a volunteer board director position.

Mission Statement

We help English language learners become thriving members of our community by offering one-on-one language tutoring, and building bridges that foster cross-cultural respect, understanding, and friendship.

Partners in English Language Learning (Piell) exists on a donation only capacity. Our charter is to provide free ESL tutoring to our students. All tutors are volunteers, as are our Board members. We have one paid position of Program Coordinator. Our tutors are trained and then matched with a student to tutor on a one-on-one basis. They decide where and when to meet, for an average of 1-2 hours per week. Our students come to us for help learning English so as to be more competent in their jobs, and to be more comfortable in their community.

We'll work with your schedule.
