Interested in advocating to end gender based violence? Volunteer with SAVE and become a domestic violence advocate!
SAVE offers the 40 hour Domestic Violence Counselor Training, and completion of the training certifies you in the state of California as a Domestic Violence Counselor.
Training dates: Fridays, October 11- November 22 (7 sessions)
Time: 9:30am-4:30pm
Location: Nakamura Clinic in Union City
Learn to:
- Understand dynamics of intimate partner violence.
- Provide trauma informed care
- Utilize peer counseling skills
Volunteer can assist with:
- Taking crisis line phone calls.
- Supporting case management
- Providing peer counseling
- Court accompainiment
Please note that make-ups will NOT be available for any missed sessions. Attendance at all sessions is required for certification.

SAVE's mission is to provide alternatives to domestic violence through support services, advocacy and education, and to assist domestic violence victims and their families to end the cycle of violence. SAVE is located in Southern Alameda County, California, but serves clients from any city, county, state, or country.
Description
SAVE is a non-profit community-based organization founded in 1976 to address the needs of people experiencing family violence. We offer complete services from crisis to the establishment of a violence-free, self-sufficient life.
