ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Illinois Region

This position supports the Regional Disaster Cycle Services department. Ensuring timely activation and monitoring of local and regional Disaster Action Team responses.

  1. Dispatch Disaster Action Team members, and monitor the response to ensure appropriate resources are made available.
  2. Activate Disaster Health Services, Disaster Mental Health, and Disaster Spiritual Care, when needed.
  3. Documents incoming disaster notification and creates & verifies events within the Red Cross system.
  4. Notify Chapter and Regional staff of significant events, and contribute to an Initial Incident Report, when appropriate.
  5. Attends regularly scheduled team/Disaster Action Team meetings required by Chapter/Region.
This is a remote position so having a reliable computer, phone and internet service will be important.
Great customer service skills and good basic computer skills also needed.

  • 12:00 AM to 04:00 AM
  • 04:00 AM to 08:00 AM
  • 08:00 PM to 12:00 AM
