West County Health Center is a non-profit network of healthcare delivery, community outreach, and wellness centers serving our area. Through an internal research group we call "The Innovation Hub", our team of data scientists, public health experts, and other talented individuals look for actionable insights hidden the wealth of data generated by our practices.

We are looking for a few talented individuals to join our Innovation Hub on a volunteer basis to help us sort, manage, and learn from the wealth of data our organization collects. You will be working closely with an Associate Director in charge of our data analytics operations as well as with her talented team of public health policy and data science professionals.

This role is perfect for students with a strong command computer science and/or statistics, professional data scientists that want exposure to the health care world, or any other type of individual who feels this role is a fit for their skill-set and thinks it could be a fun opportunity.

Volunteers should have experience with relational databases, SQL, Apache Hive & Hadoop, as well as Tableau.

Requirements:
Our volunteers are valued members of our team. Previous experience is preferred. Training is provided.

Volunteers must be able to:

• Physically carry out the duties assigned
• Have reliable means of getting to volunteer activities on time
• Able to fulfill time commitment
• Pass a background check
• Annual TB test
• Annual flu shot

• Attend a two hour orientation and receive additional training as needed
