Call all Financial Professionals!

The Urban Affair Coalition’s Department of Community & Economic Development is looking for knowledgeable financial professionals to help facilitate our successful Financial Advancement Network workshops. We are looking for more individuals who have a passion and a drive to uplift individuals and families out of financial insecurity.

Launched in 2004, Financial Advancement Network (FAN) Workshops are "one touch" sessions that are organized around a specific topic of interest identified by a community partner. We draw from a pool of financial education specialists to teach sessions that include topics ranging from, "Understanding and Improving Your Credit", "How to Plan for Retirement", "Understanding Investing", and "How to Budget".

Applicants must have a finance or social work background and experience with student loan education is preferred! Schedules are flexible- choose when you’d like to lead a group! Bilingual a major PLUS! Workshops are scheduled all over the city, with all age, gender, ethnicity, income, etc.

About Urban Affairs Coalition

Mission Statement

The Urban Affairs Coalition's mission is to unite government, business, neighborhoods, and individual initiatives to improve the quality of life in the region, build wealth in urban communities, and solve emerging issues.

Description

We are a Coalition of 65+ partner organizations, large and small, working on diverse issues that immediately affect communities. We strengthen nonprofit organizations through fiscal sponsorship, capacity building, and program evaluation; improve life chances for youth and young adults; and provide economic opportunity to low-income households, working families, and disadvantaged businesses.

The Coalition shapes public policy and delivers programs that respond to urgent community needs. The problems we face are far too complex for one entity to solve on its own. Our deep community roots and strong linkages to public and private groups allow us to bring together a diverse set of resources around specific issues to drive change from the ground up. The Power of Coalition means that, together, we can accomplish what no one organization can do alone.

Our priorities are:

  • Strengthening nonprofits
  • Building wealth in urban communities
  • Developing youth and young adults
  • Creating strategic partnerships
