The Communications Associate will be instrumental in helping to develop key messaging for sharing our mission and impact on social media, Soule Foundations website, blog, storytelling, newsletters, mailings, outreach, and events.
Responsibilities:
- Construct a biweekly Newsletter to send to students sharing scholarship opportunities, student highlights, etc
- Construct a quarterly Newsletter to send to out to sponsors and donors about the programs that we are creating and how we are engaging youth.
- Assist with constructing key messaging in terms of outreach and events.
- Other related duties
Qualifications
- Should have good understanding of voice and social media presence of SOULE FOUNDATION
- Self-starter; ability to initiate and work independently
- Ability to interact professionally with potential partners and donors in person, via phone, and email
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
SOULE FOUNDATION volunteers have the chance to work closely with a budding Executive Team and have the opportunity to make true, meaningful impact in their time with the organization. Commitment is 5-10 hours a week.

Description
The Soule Foundation is program and experience designed to support, develop and promote the educational advancement of LGBTQ Youth of color. The SOULE Foundation started as an extension of SOULE, a media organization dedicated to Representing, Connecting and Empowering the Black LGBTQ community. As important as our youth are, The SOULE Foundation developed as an inherit need to ensure their viability, mental sustainability and success.
The mission of the SOULE Foundation is to cultivate fully expressed LGBTQ Leaders of Color. To awards scholarships to everyone that applies. To foster a culture of giving back to the community as a norm. We won’t stop until every LGBTQ Youth of Color has access to a college experience.
Founded in 2017, The Soule Foundation intends to initially serve the LGBTQ Youth of color in the Greater New York Metropolitan and North-East area, with goals to expand nationally in year 3 and 5.
