We need an experienced photographer to help us capture our upcoming RI ACS CAN Research Breakfast. The event will be held at the Roger Williams Park Casino, and is a seated breakfast event. We also hope to take photos of our the event planning council, as well as of VIPs and sponsors prior to the start of the seated event.

This sixth annual event attracts around 200 leaders from business, education, life science innovation, healthcare, government and research who come together to support ACS CAN’s efforts to fight cancer on Smith Hill, Capitol Hill, and across the country. It also highlights the sophisticated university and hospital research that happens here in Rhode Island. This year, our expert panel will feature a discussion on the significant cancer research being done here in Rhode Island and how federal research grants and ACS grants have given life to these projects that have contributed to life saving measures in the cancer world.

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is the nations' leading advocacy organization working every day to make issues facing cancer patients a national and state priority. Whether it is increasing cancer research and prevention funding or improving access to health coverage, ACS CAN protect the needs of patients and families, working to ensure that our innovation ecosystem remains strong and everyone has the access to care they need to prevent, detect and fight cancer.

Description

If we are to succeed in our mission to end suffering and death from cancer, it won't just happen in the doctor's office or research lab. This movement must start at the statehouse and in Congress. And, it will be led by volunteers - regular people whose lives have been impacted by cancer - rallying together to demand change from their elected officials.

We are the organization empowering volunteers to do just that - influence change and impact the future of cancer. From gaining dramatic increases in funding for cancer research to ensuring all Americans have access to cancer care, our work is saving lives and leading to new innovative breakthroughs in how to fight this disease.
