Chapter Support Leadership

SCORE Broward depends on the talent and time of its 80 volunteers to help entrepreneurs achieve their dreams of small business ownership.

We have been operating for 57 years and are very good at what we do. Our volunteers provide close to 3,000 individual mentoring sessions and teach 225 webinars to 11,000 attendees annually.

We have established partnerships with local cities and municipalities to supplement theirs economic development initiatives that focus on small businesses with our programs. Some are bi-lingual programs.

Our growth is creating challenges in coordinating activities and managing some work and information flow. We need someone to help manage the administration of the chapter. Our administrative systems are well automated. So, the position's focus in on managing and supervising the needed administrative tasks that keep the chapter properly functioning.

The position is on the chapter's executive committee. That committee manages the chapter.

Time commitment is whatever you feel you would like to contribute. A reasonable minimum is probably 4-5 hours per week. There is no set schedule. We have two offices that can be used. One is in downtown Ft Lauderdale in the Federal Courthouse at 299 E Broward Blvd. The other is in Hollywood at 6565 Taft Street, Currently, due to the pandemic, most volunteers are working remotely We use zoom a lot. Some use the offices.

Skills and talents that would ensure successful contributions: Most of our information is online. So, being very comfortable with using computers to navigate our CRM, email, Zoom, etc. is important. To enjoy the work involved the volunteer should be detailed oriented and enjoy helping others stay on track. Our growth keeps us evolving processes and procedures, So, a creative mind and adventurous personality would fit well. Interest in process improvement or project management will find a fertile area to exercise those interests.
