Lantern Community Services is a supportive housing non-profit that helps people who are formerly homeless or have recently aged out of foster care rebuild their lives. Our programs deal with health, employment, education, and life skills and are delivered inside our residences. We have locations in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Upper Manhattan.
Currently, we are looking for a graphic design volunteer who can help us design flyers and newsletters for our 17 sites. Our locations run various programs and groups throughout the year, from cooking classes to educational groups, and promoting them to our residents is the first big step in getting people to show up. While some sites create flyers and try to make newsletters, it's often hard for staff to dedicate a lot of time to this when they are busy with their own workload and sometimes lack design skills. We hope to find a volunteer who can dedicate a little time each week to help our sites promote their events through creatively designed flyers and newsletters.
