Our nonprofit, STEM for Every Child, has partnered with Girls Who Code to start afterschool clubs across metro Atlanta. For this opportunity, you would be in charge of a once-a-week coding session with middle school girls in grades 6-8. The club would have approximately 8-10 girls.
*Background check would be required (criminal history, sex offender registry, and arrest record)
*We would love volunteers who have experience in Education
*You do not need to know how to code; the course is self-guided with the girls on their Chromebooks.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to empower underserved children to explore and learn using STEM-based technology and resources.
Description
STEM is not just a buzz word in the education field, it is an all-encompassing idea of educating students in four specific disciplines - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Unlike the traditional method of teaching these subjects separate from each other, STEM focuses on integrating them together into hands-on real-world projects called PBL (Project Based Learning). STEM requires students to use problem-solving skills, and to think about the world around them in a different way, and it can start in the early years when a child first enters elementary school.
STEM for Every Child, Inc. is registered within the state of Georgia and is a federally approved 501(c)3 nonprofit. Because we are just getting established, we have kept our reach close to Tucker & Decatur, as well as a few in Atlanta Public Schools. Our dream is to impact every Title 1 school across metro Atlanta.
We are seeking volunteers who would like to run aftercare coding clubs through our partnership with Girls Who Code. This would be an 8 week, once a week, 1.5 hour requirement.
