Free Tax Training and Preparation

Beginning in November or December we use an IRS program to train to become certified for tax preparation. We also train to complete the Vermont Income Tax Forms as well. Then in February, we see clients and help prepare all the forms they need to achieve their refunds and credits. All forms are completed on our computers and are e-filed for completion.
Beside tax preparers, we need people to greet the clients, do paperwork and generally assist. All training is self-directed, with classroom support if the volunteers want or need it.
Tax Preparation schedules are varied, depending on the area. Volunteers can choose when to work. Our season is 10 weeks long.
