TIETON ARTS AND HUMANITIES

Each year Tieton Arts & Humanities hosts a celebration and creates a large community altar for everyone to add to. Visitors can bring photos of loved ones, write messages, help decorate, and bring candies or breads. This provides a special opportunity to remember those who are no longer with us.

Community Altar Exhibition
October 30 - November 21
Open Fridays from 12 - 3pm and Saturdays & Sundays from 11 - 3pm

The Community Altar and gallery is open for public viewing during gallery hours. The exhibition features a sandpainting by Oaxacan artist Fulgencio Lazo, exhibits on the sacred traditions, contemporary and traditional altars, sugar skull displays, paper marigolds, and papel picado.

By engaging talented and creative individuals--from the Yakima Valley, the Northwest, and across the nation-- we facilitate participation, collaboration, and community-based entrepreneurship among people with diverse backgrounds, ages, and education levels. TA&H hosts poetry workshops and art shows, inspires student artists and celebrates Day of the Dead; we are dedicated to making a difference in the cultural life of rural Tieton, Washington. You can learn more about our programs and the fun events coming up on our website at www.tietonarts.org.
