ORGANIZATION: Holyoke Tutor/Mentor Program

Become part of a vibrant learning community and help local adults get the education they need to pursue college or a living wage job.

Every year in our region adults return to school to learn English, while many more remain on a waiting list. These adults study English to fulfill personal goals, advance their careers or attend college.

Our programs are adding technology to support their learning... but a few students need your support with the technology!

We will offer a lab session one evening a week when student can work on and get support with their online learning using GoogleClassroom. The Volunteer Coach would be available on site to trouble shoot, coach and/or help students navigate.

Sessions will be held at our Ludlow, MA site.

No formal teaching/tutoring experience are needed - just good communication skills, a desire to help, and willingness to learn!

Learners are advanced English students, from a wide range of language backgrounds. GoogleClassroom is available via the GoogleSuite (included with every gmail account). Volunteers should be comfortable with technology, but do not need advanced computer skills.

Training is provided. All volunteers complete a free 12 hour training workshop series.

6 month minimum commitment
