ORGANIZATION: Hopelink

  • 13 people are interested

Since 1971, Hopelink has helped families, children, adults, seniors, and people with disabilities in north and east King County. Through our nine different programs, we help our clients get out of crisis and on a path to self-sufficiency and stability.

In October, we will be launching our newest program in the fight towards helping all members of our community...the Mobile Food Bank! This truck will travel around north and east King County meeting clients in underserved areas to ensure that they have access to healthy and nutritious food. We need your help in Bothell to make this new and exciting program a reality.

Twice a month, you’ll meet us at the Bothell United Methodist Church on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 4:30-7:30 PM to check clients in, give out food, and keep our produce and bread sections organized. Without your help, this amazing program will not be able to help our neighbors in need.

Volunteers are asked to commit to two volunteer shifts per month for a minimum of 3 months.

Mission Statement

The mission of Hopelink is to promote self-sufficiency for all members of our community; we help people make lasting change.

Description

Hopelink is the largest private, non-profit, social service agency in north and east King County. Hopelink started in 1971 in Bothell to assist families who had been affected by Boeing lay-offs with job search services. Since then, Hopelink has grown to include six emergency service centers and food banks, and programs in housing, family development, childcare, transportation, and more. In July of 2001, Eastside Literacy became a program of Hopelink, adding Adult Literacy and English as a Second Language services to our programs. Over 2000 Hopelink volunteers help their neighbors work towards lasting change each year.
