The Alzheimer's Association mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for this mission. Our events have become a way to connect caregivers with others that have faced a diagnosis, and to offer an opportunity to celebrate the lives of loved ones lost to this awful disease. This is a cause that our community has truly come to support and embrace!
Each year in Omaha, we welcome more than 2,000 participants to the park that have come together for a single and incredibly worthy cause. The Association relies heavily on the support of volunteers the day of the event. Each of you that come out to support the event and mission the day of the walk is playing a critical role in the success of our mission. Our volunteers are making a difference in the lives of everyone in this community that has been faced with an Alzheimer's diagnosis, and we could not do it without you!

Mission Statement
The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia -- by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
Description
Since 1982, the Nebraska Chapter has provided education, information and support to individuals afflicted with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other dementias. Alongside 78 other Chapters and our Home Office in Chicago, we promote research for the prevention, cure, and treatment of AD. This mission is carried out by increasing concern and awareness, advancing public policy, enhancing care and support options, accelerating research, and growing revenue.
The Nebraska Chapter has offices in Omaha and Lincoln. We have programs and events throughout Nebraska. Visit alz.org/nebraska or call 800.272.3900.
