The Metropolitan Ministries Holiday Tent offers food, toys, and prayers to those in desperate need, but the true spirit of the Holiday Tent is that it provides an opportunity to build community. The Holiday Tent is a special place where more than 100,000 people from all walks of life come together and love one another. Our Holiday Volunteer Leaders are an essential for helping our Holiday Tent run smoothly for both clients and volunteers.
POSITION PROFILE: The Holiday Volunteer Leaders for kids care assist with our children’s care area. As families shop and enjoy the holiday tent experience, Kids Care gets to play with the kids!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in providing clean, open, friendly space for the kids
- Orient and train Kids Care volunteers for your shift(s)
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children in the Kids Care center
- Commit to 6 shifts (3-4 hours in length)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and Experience:
- Attend orientation session
- Work with a diverse population
- Skill Requirements:
- Know basics for caring for young children.
- Comfortable working in and around children and managing disorderly behavior.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift > 15lbs, change from sitting to standing and back again
